The Hospitality Industry has enormous growth potential. With the escalating demand for hotels in India, the need for sharp and skilled professionals in this industry is fast-paced; in India and worldwide. Apart from its glamour, a career in hotel management has become lucrative & exciting, attracting more & more students to opt for it. The Hospitality Industry is different from any other industry in that the skills and education you acquire will allow you to work anywhere in the world. It is indeed a course of golden opportunity since it offers an ample number of job and career opportunities.

BHMCT is four years intensive program that exposes the student to the variety of skills to work with confidence in the hospitality industry and equips the student with intellectual and leadership capabilities allowing the student to move into a diverse managerial role in prestigious international & national organizations.

Programme Educational Objectives

  • Interpret and apply basic principles and concepts of hospitality and tourism management functions.
  • Understand the fundamentals of the Hotel Industry, Commercial Kitchen Operations, Food & Beverage Service, and the Wines.
  • Equip students with a range of technical, social/human, conceptual, and leadership skills required for the hospitality industry.
  • Demonstrate professional etiquette and competencies toward customer service.

Programme Outcome

  • To provide our students with an in-depth understanding of the operational aspects and knowledge of the underlying principles of the International Hospitality Industry.
  • Allow students to become familiar with the practical aspects of the hospitality industry and the strategic management issues involved in operating International Resorts and Hotels.
  • Develop hands-on skills in serving and handling guests’ needs, knowledge of national and international food and beverage trends, and menu engineering.
  • To train students for operational and administrative supervisory & management positions.
  • Prepare graduates for management careers in industry sectors such as Hotels, Resorts, Cruise Liners, Restaurants, and Catering Organisations.
  • Develop culinary skills and technical and theoretical knowledge of the culinary field for employability in the hospitality sector.

AFFILIATION
This course is affiliated with IKG Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi.

Admission Schedule

Admission to this course starts in the month of March every year.

Duration

The duration of this course is 4 years. The course is divided into 8 Semesters.

 

Eligibility conditions

All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board / University / Council.

EXAMINATION SCHEDULE

University examinations are taken twice every year as per the following schedule.

Odd Semester: November and December (Every year)

Even Semester: April and May (Every year)
