INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE
The B Com programme is a fundamental stream of study which equips a student with concepts on Accountancy, Business Administration, Finance, Economics and Industrial Policies.
Completing graduation in commerce, aspirants have a wide range of options for higher studies. They can do post graduation in any of the streams like, Economics, Statistics, Law, Arts, MBA etc. On successful completion of B Com, aspirants can also apply for jobs relating business and finance. Professionals can apply for employment in finance sector like banking, company secretary ship, chartered accountancy, Cost and works accountancy jobs.
Admission to this course starts in the month of May Every year.
The duration of this course is 3 years. The course is divided into 6 Semesters.
This course is affiliated with IKG Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi.
Candidate should have passed at least +2 examination of Punjab School Education Board or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least: 33% marks in the aggregate in case of commerce students who have passed 10+2 examination and 40% for the students who have opted for two of the following commerce subjects in 10+2: Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics ,Mathematics e , Office Management and Secretarial Practice, Principle and Practice of Insurance, Tax Procedure and Practice and 45% for other candidates.
University examinations are taken twice every year as per following schedule.
Odd Semester November and December (Every year)
