MESSAGE FROM SHARMILA NAKRA

For The Children Of Today’s World- ” The Challenges Are As Much From Outside As From Within Oneself .” Our Young Minds Must Have Good Thinking And Emit Positive Vibes To Ascend The Ladder Of Success. They Will Be Better Able To Face The World If They Have A Story Rooted Mind Which Is Stable And Can Turn Obstacles Into Ladders With Positive Thinking.

Innocent Hearts Has This Aim In Mind While Nurturing Its Students. The Qualities Of Hard Work As Worship And Gratitude-filled Hearts Are Imbibed Daily. If The Mind Is Pure, The Brain Is Unhindered. Our Students Must Have Clear Minds And Open Hearts To Embrace Each Idea With A Clear Vision. The Focus Of Education Is To Approach All Knowledge With The Desire To Learn. The Holistic Approach Has To Be The Front Runner With Every Effort To Foster And Retain Knowledge Along With Inculcating High Principles.

” Every Aspect Of A Child’s Life Must Be Taken Care Of – Physical, Mental As Well As Spiritual.”

Dear readers

I ebulliently present to you edition of Innocent Hearts Schools’ annual e-magazine which unravels quite a few unforgettable and treasured moments of the year gone by. The school Annual e-magazine’s pages are embellished with beautifull art work and many more informational snippets to peruse.

Innocent Hearts Schools is an institution where we strive to infuse in our learners the values which foster decision making, independent and critical thinking, and a humane approach to solve problems. This process embodies a breadth of offerings – both in the classroom and in the many extracurricular options presented to an Innocentite. The Science Exhibition held and its grand success stands testimony to the fact that the students of IHS are blessed to be studying in an environment conducive to the evolution of their academic, scientific and artistic facets of intellect. The school infrastructure also boasts of well equipped Social lab, Math lab, Science labs, IT lab and Language lab complemented with smart classes at all levels.

The cherry on the cake is the fact that we are also the first school in the city to come up with an E-Magazine bolstering our message of Going Green. The school has also stepped forward and taken the initiative of fortifying the subject of Stop Female Foeticide and encouraging the common man to educate the girl child for a brighter future of the nation. This enterprise also involves guiding words which advocate the youth to desist from intoxicating substances such as drugs and alcohol highlighting their degenerating ill-effects on both their health and future. We are also promoting the environment friendly idea of REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE by urging one and all to say no to plastic, to use reusable bags and to employ more digital options for carrying out their everyday chores. The present scenario has left us with no option than being smart enough to be tech savvy. In addition, it is my ardent and humble appeal to the parents as well to help support the cause and aid us rear our children with the qualities that personify an ideal citizen and a great human.

Finally, I would like to bring this message to a close by acknowledging the fact that I have been abundantly fortunate to have worked with a great team when it comes to putting together of the magazine as it has been a sterling group effort. I extend my personal thanks to the prime contributor Mrs. Shikha  Kakkar, (Co-editor In-chief).

In the end, I would like to leave you all with some food for thought with the following quote:

“The Earth is what we all have in common.”

This edition of Innocent Hearts, ‘News and Views’ represents the kaleidoscopic talent that embodies the spirit of each Innocentite. The e-magazine boasts of panoply of  online education, enchanting artwork and engrossing. This remarkable issue has been possible owing to the tradition at Innocent Hearts School of working together through a shared vision and values to achieve the best outcomes for our students.  It gives me profound pleasure to observe my tutelage working day in and day out for whole hearted participation both in academics & activities .

At Innocent Hearts School, we constantly strive to provide a safe and inclusive community that fosters resilience, innovation, connection and life-long learning among our learners. Keeping pace with the rapidly evolving society of today demands a lot from an individual. The challenges in contemporary era is even greater. It is the responsibility of educational establishments to arm their students with requisite traits to strongly cope up with ongoing challenges of personal and professional life. Here, we diligently recognize our role and that’s why it is not just scholastic achievement that is dear to us but for us ‘Character Building’ is equally crucial.

Part of this ‘Character Development’ is our attempt named ‘Disha’ by Bowry Memorial  Educational and Medical Trust to help our students imbibe a few essential key characteristics. This endeavour focuses on some burning issues of the modern age including the Indian girl child’s education, the ever increasing impact of Global warming and the menace of drug and alcohol abuse. I also feel proud of the efforts of my team when I state the fact that we are the first school in our region to publish an E-magazine which further helps us in cutting out the use of paper and encourages everyone around to Go Green.

I am sure this E-magazine is going to reverberate our efforts of trying to fortify our learners with the skills, mind sets and qualities that best equip them for success in the world of the future. Here we have a dynamic learning community where we value collaborative learning, positive relationships and building capacity amongst our learners to effectively allow them to engage with the outside world, where problem solving, evaluating, working in teams, communicating, creating and innovating are not only valued concepts, but expected skills, attributes and capabilities.

Lastly, I am of the opinion that we are all perpetual learners in different moulds and therefore, we should never forget the following maxim:

“Learning is the only thing the mind never exhausts, never fears, and never regrets.”

 – Leonardo da Vinci
